Hi to all Outlender PHEV owners

I just would like all owners to post here pictures with real fuel consumption L/100 km or MPG .

I think this is how we can learn from each other how to do best out of our car with our own experience.

For example we drive our Outlander mostly around 50 km per day. Before we turn the car on we push start button without brake , then we put in EV mode and after that we start the car in EV mode. Our car is every night in the garage and so far in Canadian ( Ontario ) winter we have very good fuel consumption. Since last reset ( 12 days ago ) after first car refuel we have in my opinion nice fuel consumption ( 1.2L/100 km = 196 MPG US ) for winter time and outside temperature range from +3 C to -15 C. We keep our climate control at 21 Celsius most of the time, turn on seat and steering wheel heaters for few minutes . For over 600 km only one fuel dot is dropped on fuel gauge.

I really would like to hear other people experiences and see display pictures....and of course to learn something new from all of you.

Our 2023 Outlander PHEV is Diamond Black SEL Canadian specs with black leather interior.

Very good idea Bubka. I got my PHEV at the beginning of December, first one in the Gaspé area (Québec ). I drove so far about 6600 km, some long distance and also short distance to get to work, from -30 C to +5 C. Fuel consumption was bad on long distance at first, about 10.2 L/100 km, but I improved a lot since I know better the car. I will post a picture when I will fill My tank next time, and some information noted when I filled the tank.

Very good idea Bubka. I got my PHEV at the beginning of December, first one in the Gaspé area (Québec ). Hi again

here is a picture of my fuel consumption since I received the car last December. 6.1 L/100 km for 6692 km up to now. Slow average speed of 64km/h as I am doing a lot of back and forth to the office, about 8 km from home at 50-90 km/h max. Best run was 1000km until warning of low fuel level popped up On screen.

My car, a diamond white PHEV GT-Premium, sleeps in a garage not heated, and it’s plugged on level 2 charger on a daily basis, always leave with a full battery in the morning.

Slow average speed of 64km/h
I dont think this is slow for AVERAGE. You can see on my display picture average is 48 km/h and we do not drive slow our car. Our 50 km daily driving is 60 city /40 hwy and with signal lights and bad traffic we come to 48 km/h avg. Our hwy speed 110-120 km/h ( all electric ) side roads 70-90 km/h and city 50-70 km/h but with all traffic slow down you come to lower numbers

I just completed one little longer round trip of total 342 km . Trip started with fully charged battery and full tank of fuel with reset drive computer. Ended up at destination 4.5L/100 km after 160 km mostly driven around 90- 95 km/h on side regional roads with speed limit 80 km/h and urban area 50-60 km/h . I used fast level 3 charger first time ( just to try ) and added 70 % to battery before turned around . Completed trip with 5.8l/100 km after 342 km total. Outside temperature was all the time negative . Refueled tank with 20L of fuel at the and of the trip.
I think this is good fuel consumption for new car this size and weight in the winter time.

I don't have any long trips, just a lot of 10-50 mile range trips. I have over 700 miles on the odometer and I haven't reset the manual trip. My overall MPG is 48.5. Most of the miles are in hybrid mode, Feb. and march so far have been cold in minnesota. I make about half of my trips at night when it is between 10 to -10 F and daytime highs have only been above freezing a few days. I am guessing only about 30% of my driving has been in EV mode because of the cold.

Hi, I would like to think our 2023 #'s are that low, but nothing is free in life, meaning, you (& I ) have been paying through the nose for hydro usage in Ontario at least. I'm looking at an overall estimate of about 5L/100kms based one what we've increased our hydro bill by. We also drive ~ 30 - 70kms per day and have only put gas in the car twice (~ $30 each time). We are now at 2,100kms. Frankly, even though we are in EV mode virtually all the time, I'm surprised at how the engine will turn on and stay on for a few minutes, even after the car is fully warmed - can't figure this out. We are also in ECO mode and rarely use the heating system, as we've got used to getting by with the heated seats (not ideal to be honest, but the heater takes so long to heat up, even when the car is warm and the EV is turned off - see my other discussion item for that). On a similar note, regarding fuel consumption, does anyone have any idea what the "Auto Refuel" screen #3 (under info) means? It is not changeable and doesn't seem to have anything to do with the 20L / 3 month automatic consumption aspect. I have the dealer looking into it, as they don't know either.

Yes , but hydro is still much cheaper than gasoline. This is why I purchased level 2 charger to be able to recharge car from 7 p.m to 7 a.m. ( off peak rate ) and also to charge it faster .
For example , now for my monthly needs ( approx. 1700 km per month ) I will pay around $50 hydro & $50 for gasoline monthly ( at 2L / 100 km which is possible in my case ) when car used mostly locally in the winter time. With my previous car ( VW Arteon - premium fuel grade ) for the same distance was around $300 monthly . In the rest of the season I am expecting even bigger difference based on my Chevy Volt experience.

This is 3rd display for fuel consumption.
I just figured it out few days ago.
This display is reset automatically when you refuel.
When you put your driver display on fuel consumption you push ( do not scroll ) OK button ( scroller ) and you will change between 3 different fuel consumption displays each time you press button down.
I hope this will help.

We are also in ECO mode
I never put my car in ECO mode and maybe this is why your car heating cabin less, because you have in car setting > ECO setting possibility to set preferences for car in ECO mode which includes heating settings if I remember well ( can not check it because I am away from home next couple of days ).
We always drive our car in NORMAL mode. Before we turn the car on we push start button without brake , then we put in EV mode and after that we start the car in EV mode. This is how we avoid gasoline engine to kick on in the morning time coming out of garage and car always start EV this way. Even on the way back when seating all day outside we do the same routine and mostly car starts EV and sometimes car kick the ICE on by itself probable for conditioning purpose I guess.
Chevy Volt also turned on ICE by itself when needed. I owned Chevy Volt for 2 and a half years and never had any problem with a car and lifetime 0.9L/100 km. I am expecting Outlander to be lifetime between 1.5 - 2L/100 km in the same routine as Chevy Volt used to be & we are planning to keep Outlander at least 7- 8 years.
Chevy started by default in EV but in Outlander we have to do it manually.

I hear what you're saying, but again, I was making reference to the "1.2L/100kms reference", i.e., when you take into account the hydro aspect, moving this PHEV from point A to B, takes a lot more energy than 1.2L/100kms. I will say for all those looking at charging options, when charging, if you have the time (we're retired), a slow charge is best for longevity of the battery. That said, the occasional fast charge (240v or DC FC) won't be much of an issue, but done more often over time, the charge retention will likely be less.

I am trying to understand but sorry I can not, anyway everybody has his own math. I am ok so far with Outlander and expecting even better on warmer weather. 1.2L was done in 15 days local on 800 km driven before longer trip.

With Outlander 800km at 1.2L/100 = 9.6 litres gasoline 9.6 x $1.45 = $ 13.92
800 km at 28.5 kwh/ 100 km = 228 kwh x $ 0.08 =$ 18.24
Total 800 km for $32.16

With VW Arteon 800 km at 10L/100 km = 80 litres x $1.65 = $132.00
Total 800 km for $132.00

This is my math for two weeks

Just recently finished a 1,530km trip to Boston and New Hampshire over the Vermont mountains and back. Fuel consumption avg was 8.3l/100km, avg 91km/h, 38% of trip was battery, normal mode, a/c off (everyone was comfortable in the front and back seats with their own heat settings), on winter tires, ambient air about 2 - 5 degrees C, tire PSI showing 38 psi. I was going the de facto speed limit, nothing crazy but I wasn't being regularly passed either. Most of the kms where highway where I put in Save mode and parallel hybrid came on, and EV in the city/towns.

It's nice having the kW power output display rather than the useless RPM indicator when not using a manual. Doing 110km/h puts out about 40 kW on a mostly level road. Increase to 120km/h and it was showing about 47-48 kW on the same road. That extra 10km/h requires an extra 18-20% more power. First time ever I didn't want to push the speed limit!

I have question for you , where did you get that exact info how many percentage was battery ? I dont know where to see it unless you used circle in drivers display next to fuel consumption.
