Any listing I can find says up to 2022, does NOT fit 2023? MZ315081 fits up to the 2022.... Any info as to where or how would be greatly appreciated. I'm able to build my own but have concern about causing can-bus errors?

really dont think they have one at this time . lost i checked mitsu fracked up thought the regular outlander hitch would work . turns out not on the phev . something to do with the effects of an impact and the battery as the dealer explained . any way no hitch for me . he said they are working on a fix and will contact me when he knows more .

Thanks for the reply... U-Haul will install the universal type wiring harness but needs to be spliced/tapped into the existing factory wiring. really trying to avoid that if possible. The Curt 13487 will bolt on after moving a small pump? that is mounted next to frame rail on drivers side. Best guess is this is a pump associated with the heat pump as the '22's do not have it. That is a reason why the hitches for the '22 do not fit.

The dealership I ordered from thinks they are going to install a "factory tow package" when my 2023 PHEV arrives...I wonder if they are mistaken? I hope not!

Has anyone successfully installed a hitch on their 2023 phev? Anyone have a picture of the factory hitch installed on any 2022/2023 outlander, just curious what it looks like.

I called Mitsubishi customer service ( here in Canada ) last week to enquire as to the time frame before the factory trailer hitch/wiring harness would be available. They told me "mid summer" at earliest. I am going with the U-Haul Curt/Tekonsha option I listed above. Booked for install on April 1st, will post pics etc when installed.

Yes please definitely post pics of the U-Haul hitch once it's installed! From what I can tell, you will be getting a Curt 13398? Curious if your PHEV has the 1500W outlet in the back? Thought I saw another story somewhere that the inverter for that thing might be in the way on the 2023...

My dealer just gave me the same news on the factory hitch, "national backorder, could be several months". So, I'll probably order the Curt and see if it fits.

Curt 13487 is the one having installed. Yes, have the 1500w outlet. The only thing in the way of the hitch install is a tab on the mount for what appears to be an air pump? on passenger side next to the frame rail. A careful trimming with a vibe tool and shouldn't be an issue. Curt 13398 is for the 2022 and older.

I ordered the Curt 13487 like @Farklepilot. Should be a super easy install (compared to some others I've done), bumper and exhaust stay on I think. Just need to nudge that passenger side pump thingy about 1/4" over to make room... I'll post pictures when it's installed.

Of the 5 different cars I've put hitches onto, this was probably the easiest and cheapest ($187+free shipping from Napa!). I did it by myself in about an hour, but it would REALLY help to have 2 people. Didn't need to remove exhaust.

It turns out that the pump thing isn't a big deal, it doesn't need to be trimmed or anything, the hitch rail doesn't interfere at all, nestles perfectly right up above it.

There are 2 nuts holding the bracket for the pump. Remove the one farthest rearward, and loosen the other one. Now it'll swing to the side and let the hitch through. Also it will allow you to insert a bolt that is otherwise impossible to get to.

Now angle/maneuver the hitch into place. I had to use a little "physical persuasion", lightly thumping it to get past the exhaust (it rubs a little on the way by but nothing terrible or damaging at all). Then screw all the bolts in, and reattach the hanging pump bracket.
