Engine Malfunction ⚠️ Service Now

Same issue with my 2022 Outlander with just a little over 1,000 miles. Right before it happened it was in reverse for maybe 3 seconds. The warning appeared a few seconds after I put it in drive. Didn’t notice any loss of power. Drove it home about 10 miles and the warning was gone when I started it back up the next day. Sensor issue? A very startling and concerning warning to see! 😩

Contact your service center. It's know TSB. They need to update the software on your ECU. Show them this picture:

My Outlander was produced after 12/16/21 so it doesn’t qualify for this TSB.

Probably still wouldn't hurt to check with them for the latest software.

Had this same issue a couple months ago… dealership did the same thing as above on mine. All fixed.
Hello,

Two days ago this appeared. I'm at the dealership and they said my car was one of the over 50,000 recalls and they are updating the system r.n. they got the USB to update it just yesterday I'm probably lucky.

My light came on yesterday. Ran a couple places and it never came back on yet as of now. Called the dealership and the guy basically had no clue he said it may be a software issue 🙄 he said keep an eye on it and call back if it does it again

Same issue with mine but after 3 months, my car did not start. It was completely dead. I had AAA jump start my car and they said it might be my battery cause it was very low. Mind my car is a 2022 Outlander. I took it to the dealership they said they charged my battery & said my car was good to go. Nope, I couldn't start my car and I told the service guy, I thought you said my car was good & it got a diagnostic as well. They kept my car for 2 days and they said it was some wires that were damaged. My car got fixed and now it's been 2 months and again the sign came up Engine Malfunction, please service now. So not sure if this will be a constant issue?
