ev mode unavailable

hey everyone, new phev owner here. just got a new to me 2020 phev and all was good. now when i start out in ev mode after a few hundred feet it goes into normal mode and says ev mode unavailable. could press ev button 50 times and still unavailable, if i stop and restart i can get ev mode sometimes. but seems like i need to drive 3 or 4 klm before i can engage ev mode. then if i stop for awhile this whole process is repeated again. no hvac on, easy start off and plus temps outside. i got this phev to do all ev around town and back and forth to work not to have to drive 4 klm befor ev works. 4 klm drive im at work anyway lol. has anyone ever seen this before or know a fix, yes it still has warranty but its a 1800 klm round trip to nearest dealer. any advice would be greatly appreciated tks geoff

Hello Maxim552,

have you tried the "trick" to prevent ICE turn-on when starting (ACC > EV mode > ON/Ready > Drive) - you should be driving around in wonderfully serene EV mode after that. Check in other discussion threads, I believe how to stay in EV mode was discussed in « Parallel VS Serial mode »

1st ive seen this but will diff try. tks
tried it and not working tks
Ok. So you are in an older PHEV. It does not let you select ACC>EV mode. I believe you have to be in Ready mode before you can select EV mode. It might be needing to burn old fuel if you have not gone through a full tank of petrol in a while.
