Thought I'd create a thread so people can get an Idea of lead times! Comment with your region , order placed date , trim level and when you got it! Or when you've been told it should arrive! I'm in Ontario and put in an order early December 2022 on an es and estimated arrival this summer

When you start your everyday trip routine , do you have to each time switch to EV mode or you make your EV ONLY kilometers in normal mode without using switch just turn car on and go ? I am just waiting to get new 2023 Outlander PHEV here in Ontario Canada. Should arrive next week. I am asking that because I use to have Chevy Volt and that car by default runs in full EV mode until battery empty or until you switched to hybrid mode manually if wanted to save battery. With Chevy Volt I had 0.9L/100 km lifetime fuel consumption on 43,000 km total.

Left a deposit last week for the LE S PHEV blue and been told 4 to 6 month but could be less if I am flexible on the color. I am in Montreal Canada. I also have a deposit for a Tucson PHEV since February 22. The dealer had no info last week on a possible delivery date. Lets see which one arrive first. My bet is on the Outlander.

Fairly certain it starts in ev priority mode unless it seems itself too cold or you request heat for the cabin at low temperatures , heat pump can function until -15°c

It always defaults to normal mode on the next start, including s-awc settings. You can lock in EV mode manually by turning the car on acc mode then pushing the EV button to select EV, then turning the car on with a brake pedal press. But this only works within operating temps of the drive battery. In the winter for example, the drive battery can be too cold to be in EV mode only on start up.

In normal operating temps I believe the Outlander is very similar to the Volt where it wants to be in EV mode when possible. However, under 70 kmh it will not go into parallel hybrid mode because it lacks a transmission, so the series hybrid mode will be less efficient than parallel hybrid when the drive battery is depleted.

Welcome to the forum.
Interesting to see you came from the Volt. Did you consider any other PHEVs or EVs before ordering the Outlander?

I did preorder Hyundai Tucson PHEV one year ago and just gave up last week when purchased 2023 Outlander PHEV SEL Diamond Black on Black leather here in Ontario Canada.
I had 2018 Chevy Volt until 2020 for 2 1/2 years than jumped into ICE car and now I will come back into PHEV game.
PHEV is best option for my needs about 50 km a day driving.
Chevy Volt was nice car to drive and to save money but is little bit too small for me.
That is why I am coming back into PHEV , but SUV.

My question for current 2023 Outlander PHEV owners is :
When You just turn on the car and by default it will start in NORMAL MODE will you just start driving like that and car will mostly operate as EV or You have to push EV button each time to put car in EV mode to use mostly batteries.

forget what it was at first was playing with a lot of buttons lol . now it only starts in normal mode , may always have or it switched due to low temperatures im not sure . thing is you want it in normal mode during low temperatures any way as it will keep the temperature where you want it . it will start the heat pump and or engine to start then go to ev and occasionally run the engine when needed for heat but not very often so still mostly in ev . it will turn on the engine more often if you have your defog on that freaked me out a little with the engine comming on for a minuet every 5-6 mins on a cold day but figured it out so if you dont need defog dont use it lol.

as for me my commute is longer than the ev range during winter so i switch to battery save for 5 mins to start then switch to normal . during the summer im still slightly out of expected ev range ... say about 45 miles ... so will switch to ev mode if it doesn't start there . switching is very user friendly . a easy assess button you can find and press without looking and the indicator pops right up on your dash when you are pressing it so very well thought out .

hope this helps

I like to hear real owner experiences. That is why I asked about normal mode because as a previous PHEV owner I had a similar experience. Is fuel consumption much higher in NORMAL mode than in forced EV mode.
BTW mine Outlander arrived at dealership picking up tomorrow.

gotta tell you the mileage difference isnt really noticeable . by the way normal mode is working now i think during the summer there will probably be little to no difference between normal and ev . first time phev owner so its all a big bag of fun for me now playing and figuring things out lol . gotta tell you i do love this vehicle though . i see yours came in looks great congrats . when you get some time driving tell us what you think im kinda curious about how it compares to your last one .

Ordered mid-January, "estimated delivery" is March 6th, but, there have been zero updates since ordering, so...not very confident on that delivery date. Does anyone know how to read the factory ordering codes? They think "QR Manifested" means its still being built or waiting for specific parts...?

If you don't mind me asking, how much is your dealership charging for the extended warranty? I've found that the price can have a HUGE range from dealer to dealer. (In 2018 my Subaru dealer wanted $4k for an extended warranty, but another only wanted $1400, so I was able to get my dealership to price match for the exact same warranty, "saved" myself literally thousands to of $$!!).
