Hi all,
New to the forum here. I have been driving of my new 2023 Outlander PHEV SE Tech for a month now here in Southern California and I have the following questions / observations.
- Mitsubishi website says all models come with grille shutter. However, I looked into my front bumper grille and I don't see any active motorized shutters. I believe I saw it on another car when I was at the dealer, but that could be an SEL. Do any of you have grille shutters?
- The website also says hands-free power liftgate. I thought it meant it has the kick sensor under the bumper, but my car doesn't have it. Is it just an SEL exclusive feature? I guess using the remote counts as hands free?
- I discovered that there is a velcro strap that minimizes the 3rd row seat from bouncing up and down when going over speed bumps.
- The car has no problem driving around in EV mode in almost all conditions. The only issue I observed was when driving the 241 toll road south climbing the long uphill at 70-75 mph, the engine kicked in even though I had over 50% charge. The battery doesn't seem to like sustained high speed hill climbs and may be trying to protect itself from high load conditions.
- My car has developed an annoying creaking sound somewhere in the dash on the passenger side. Has anyone got a similar issue?
- My car is leased through Santander, to take advantage of the EV tax credit. If I were to buy out the car at the end of the lease, will the full powertrain warranty be retained? The warranty booklet says the the 10/100 powertrain warranty applies only to original owner and technically the bank owns the car.
Thanks in advance for any feedback!
From the warranty book: "
The 'original owner' is defined as the first retail purchaser
of the Vehicle who took delivery of the eligible
Vehicle on its original in-service date. This original
owner designation will also apply if the Vehicle was
first placed in lease service and is purchased at the
end of the lease by original lessee."
