re: Deceptive Advertising

Just a heads-up for those planning on using the Loyalty; Graduate $500 bonuses. Certainly when we bought our 2023 PHEV, we thought we were getting both, but got neither. It was advertised on the Mitsubishi Canada and local Orleans sites at the time, with no specific reference to be seen to say that the bonuses would not be honored. When speaking with Mitsubishi Canada, they said it was up to the dealer (as per a conversation I had (& have)), of course, the dealer then stated, that would never happen at the dealer level, so it was purely the responsibility of the Mitsubishi Canada. So much for "loyalty" to long-time Mitsubishi owners. So, buyer beware, as there was a similar advert posted in late April, that the dealer had the audacity to mail to us directly. From an ethical perspective, it's just greed, whereas, from a business perspective, it's very short-sited on the dealer's part, as I've got no further allegiance to them at all and will take my service business elsewhere whenever possible, let alone won't be referring friends/ family to this dealer. I'd be interested if anyone was able to receive the bonus(s) on a 2023 PHEV.

I was told the loyalty did not apply to the 2023 PHEV from the manufacturer and the dealer showed me a Mitsu Canada sheet that showed what incentives applied to what models. It makes sense that these are manufacturer funded incentives and not dealer-determined to be uniform across the market. I think Mitsu Canada fed you a line on it being dealer led.

IMO, it really doesn't matter who was feeding what, as a manufacturer & its dealers should be on the same page - for that matter, being one of their earliest buyers in Ontario, they made no effort to tell us, "no soup for you". Again, greed.
We had a similar problem. The dealership said Mitsubishi would not honour the loyalty discount unless we had a copy of the previous registration. After we ordered the 2023 we sold the 2018 privately. The 2018 was purchased from the same dealership so it made no sense that they would not know we were repeat customers. When I called Mitsubishi I was told that they no longer give out the $500 discounts. Even though Mitsubishi's web site clearly shows the $500 discounts and what qualifies for them. No one was budging so we eventually went with the first responders discount which the dealership honoured because we had employer ID.
Any time I call Mitsubishi Canada they tell me to talk with my dealership. Waste of time!
It's here on the Canadian website under disclaimers. 2023 Outlander PHEV does not qualify.

True, as of now that is, i.e., that small print exclusion wasn't to be found when we originally bought our PHEV. In fact, at the time we purchased, the Mitsubishi Canada website also said the rebate references, but strangely, shortly after my discussions with Mitsubishi Canada in Oct/Nov 2022 when we were told of the final price and firm delivery date, the rebate reference disappeared, although it has risen again as can now be seen (with an exclusion added). If anyone thinks this was a "fair" practice, then all the power to you. Cheers.
Yes. Was not on their web site before. I saved the page for when we purchased the vehicle.

Sure sounds like deceptive advertising to me. BTW, just noticed we also missed out on the first responders rebate, but wouldn't expect they would have honored that either LOL.

Certainly less clear in October. It just says "Conditions additional to the requirements listed below may apply. See your dealer for complete details. Education Edge rebate available on the purchase of most new Mitsubishi vehicles".
I also see you can still add the Loyalty Discount as an option to the PHEV now using their online calculator.
The rebates come from MMFS Canada which is provided by Nissan Canada Inc which is why they might be confused on the Mitsubishi side.
