Remote Start with the fob? Nissan Fob?

Hey guys. New here, but don't own an outlander. My wife and I were looking at the Nissan Rogue SL, and I found out the outlander shares many things from the Rogue. We are intrigued by the power folding mirrors, headlight washers, and 3rd row seats for kids that the Rogue doesn't offer while still getting good MPG. We have a 15 Tacoma and 21 Titan, so fuel efficient is the name of the game this time. Maybe in 2023 the outlander with get the 1.5T from the rogue? We are looking at the Outlander SEL Touring and its still 3K cheaper than a Rogue Platinum with the same options. My question is, I see that the Outlander doesn't have remote start on the fob, but it does on the connect app. I don't mind the app, but it is just faster and easier by the fob and something the Rogue and other 2 trucks have. Has anybody thought about programming a Nissan fob with the remote start button to see if it works? It seems the Mits and the Nissan Fobs are identical with the outer case being different. I feel that since it can be remote started by app, then with a Nissan fob with a remote start button, it should remote start by the key fob. Does anybody have any input on this? Tried it?

Also... The Rogue has the intelligent climate control when remote started, so it turns on the A/C, heat, heated seats, etc depending on the temp. Does the Outlander have that feature too?

Thanks Brian.

Hello! I am curious if you ever found an answer to these questions about the remote start as well as the climate control. We Just purchased a slightly used (12k miles) Outlander SEL loaded on Saturday. I guess I didn't do enough research ahead. I would have never dreamed they wouldn't have remote start on the "remote". That was a big disappointment finding out after the purchase. I don't know why they think its a good idea to just have it available on the app when the app takes forever to pull up and actually remote start the vehicle.
I intend to research this to see if I can get a remote that will work. But, hoping someone already has some answers.

Congrats! Yeah not including it on the remote was stupid, especially with it becoming more and more of a standard feature. I agree with the app, hence why I like the button. I have not found or gotten an answer on this yet, wish you luck!

The app is terrible. It constantly has issues connecting to the server (not the internet, the server at the other end that receives your request and sends out the signal). Previously I owned a 2012 Mitsubishi in which I had a Viper remote starter with fob AND app to start it. It was great. I could start it from the airplane as I was landing in Boston. This thing is horrid. When it does connect it takes 10 minutes to start the car. And I live in a large city.

To the other part of your question, it does have intelligent climate control IF (or when it finally) it starts the car.
