Roof Rack options for Outlander SE?

Hi,

I need to transport 4 kids and their various cargo and once the seats are all up, the cargo space is too small for camping gear and bikes. I have the 2022 Outlander ES, which doesn't come with the integrated roof rails.
I've been looking at hitch-mounted cargo/bike racks, but I'm in Canada and can't find somewhere that ships those.
I asked the dealership about installing the rails, but that's about $800+ the cost of the crossbars (so close to $1500 ish).

Is there an option that I haven't considered? Thule makes a rack that might work, but I worry that because I have a lease, it might scuff the roof or something.

Help?!

Most of the Mitsubishi roof rack accessories are made by Thule
I have an 2022 SE as well… I bought the oem roof rails from mitsubishi parts.com for 385.00 (a mitsu dealer in NJ) although there was a dealer in Ohio that was 30.00 less… i should’ve done a better search🙁 … It took me about 20 minutes to install them and i bought crossbars from Amazon for 99.00…

Can I ask what cross bars you bought from Amazon - we have the OE rails already on the our 2023 PHEV but now need the crossbars (which should be the same as the 2022 ICE version but the ratings don't seem to be that great for the 3rd party ones). We'll be carrying two kayaks. Thanks.
Another option is to get a hitch and a hitch basket. Uhaul Canada sells and installed hitches for the cheapest price I can find in Canada. Quick too it's only 4 bolts. Then a $100 basket from Amazon or Princess Auto.

Not sure what you mean - do you have any images of what you've suggested, that would hold two kayak?

A hitch basket is more for storage of smaller items. For camping and bikes (use case above) you can stick tents/sleeping bags/air mattresses/clothes on it.
