The rear end of this thing feels like it’s going to fish tail out of control at any speed ice or snow. I replaced the stock tires w/a set of Vredestein A/S and the experience is still present.
it seems to be an issue among other owners as well. I don’t believe switching to dedicated snow tires is the solution. The electro wizardry of Mitsubishi seems to be a little much w/all the safety assist features. Most of these, w/the exception of T/C has been defeated. I’m nota fan of the lane assist because your fighting the wheel all the time. Is the S-AWC causing this feeling? BTW, Snow Mode engaged doesn’t change the feeling. The rear tires feel like they have 10 psi in them on ice/snow.

Thank you

Interesting. I don't have this experience with a set of 4 winter tires. The rear can slip a bit on a sharper turn with too much throttle when on soft unplowed snow but I would not describe it as fish tail out of control at any speed.

Yes it is a strange thing as I’ve not had this experience w/prior vehicles. I’d compare it to a windy day and you get that one gust of wind that pushes the vehicle off line. But it’s isolated to the rear for sure. Not normal and I’d sure like to know the root cause. 22 SEL w/6K on it. Might have to let this one go.
