Windshield & Hood Flutter

Just having the most frustrating time small crack in windshield from top of windshield with no visible point of impact. I believe it’s very likely stress from this well known hood issue. In any event I follow the directions in the warranty manual and call my local dealer who advises me to call a replacement company because there’s nothing they can do for my windshield but once I get it replaced make an appointment to have the dealer calibrate the windshield (are you kidding me?). At this point nothing makes sense I call the number in warranty manual and thank God someone who makes sense!!! Certified dealer service must determine/estimate the source of crack and from there replace if source is not determined. Also note the person I spoke with suggested getting a second opinion since my dealer wasn’t even aware of correct process. Wondering if I purchased the wrong vehicle.

I hope you got the windshield fixed! Also, there may be a recall on hood replacements in late 2022 as everyone’s hood has the flutter. The hood is too light and doesn’t have the proper reinforcements between the two layers in the hood. Keep an eye out in the forums and your local dealer for recall.

The repair is already available here in Australia

Wow. Okay, I’ll be calling my dealership in the morning!!
So far (only a month and about 800 miles), so good. No hood movement at speeds up to 70 mph, and dealer had set correct tire pressures before delivery.

What years of PHEV does this apply to, (I've a 2019, & haven't notices any hood shake, but it's my wife's car so I don't drive it a lot.

I am having my hood replaced in a few weeks in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Did you have yours done? Are you happy with your paint match?
Hasnt been done yet, but i do worry about that. What color is yours?. Mine is black, but there are 2 blacks.

This is only for the 2022 outlander
Hello - If anyone can put up an image of the inside of the defective hood it would be greatly appreciated so we can compare the two and owner will know if they have a problem.

More than likely the hood is the same and they added reinforcements under the hood to stiffen it up now that it's aluminum.

Thanks Mike
