Is there a supplemental in the owners manual case? I’ll look in mine tomorrow. How do you know the the maps need updated?

 

I was using the maps and it was trying to take me through part of highway that has been demolished. I thought may be maps need to be updated.

 

There is a book for the AV. It tells how to update the maps with a usb drive but I didn't see any mention of where to get updated maps. I emailed Mitsubishi, awaiting reply.

 

Pathetic from a brand new vehicle - spent an hour going through manual, youtube and online searches and nada. Do better Mitsubishi.

I'm having an issue with MAP UPDATE TOOL not recognizing DATA on my USB key.

Hi, I was having the same problem with MAP UPDATE TOOL not recognizing DATA on my USB. The fix for it is not to do the update, go to manage maps, add maps, then do a full map reset + update, this worked for me.

 

Can you post step by step pls. Was in the car and cannot find manage maps.

You will need to install the Map Update Tool on your computer.
You can get all the info from here. Mitsubishi
When you have the app installed on your computer.
1 Go to car and save map from car to a blank USB
2 Plug USB into computer and Map Update Tool should start showing available updates, klick manage maps.
3 Don't select any of the updates that are highlighted. Go to ADD MAPS.
4 Select "Full Map Reset & Update and click RESET.
5 Go back to car plug USB and you should be able to do the update.

 

Hi, It Doesn't work for me, as usual, the update tool is not recognizing the USB key.

And as we can see on this page: Mitsubishi | Home it looks like there is no update yet for North America.

I think you are using the wrong update tool, the SDA update is for outlander before the new 2022 model.
You can download the map update tool here: Mitsubishi
Have a read of the Mitsubishi link I sent above then follow the steps above.

I really think it's based on our region. Version of the tool is up to date, and response from the tool once I've transferred the CAR data to the USB.

So I think our only hope it's that they will release an update soon for North America.

0. I installed the Map Update Tool on my PC - DONE
1 Go to car and save map from car to a blank USB - DONE - used a newly formatted 100GB USB drive formatted to FAT32 - it created a TomTomNDSUpdate subdirectory with files
2 Plug USB into computer and Map Update Tool should start showing available updates, klick manage maps. - FAILED. Map Update Tool icon has a red dot and says "Can't read USB stick"

So unable to proceed to your next steps :-(

 

Maybe try the process again with a 16 or 32GB USB. Not sure the Multi media system can use 100GB.

I was getting the same error message when I was doing just the update.
When I did a "Full Map Reset" it worked for me.

Select Manage Maps

Select Add Maps

SELECT Reset Map
I am selecting Oceania/Southeast Asia because I am in Australia.
Select the Region you come from.

Select Continue, this will download the full map to your USB.
Now do the update in your Outlander and it should work.

Am unable to do so because those options are not available (greyed out) - likely because of the USB error?

 

 

I'm at the dealer now and I asked the same question. I just made a similar post. The dealer thought it's what the state or county is transmitting? Let me know if you find anything else out.

 

Funny, I was at the dealer today for an oil change and I also had the back up camera updated. I said my map since the construction even though it's completed wouldn't directly route me home. The service tech didn't have an answer. Guess what, after the camera update, map is fine, coincidence? Perhaps, guess I won't know, but if you need the update check again.

 

What is this camera update?

I guess I just need to hope they apply any software updates on my next scheduled service ...

 

Here is a .com link to the download site "Mitsubishi | Home" however there isn't an update for the 2022 Outlander. If you look at the Eclipse there is one for North America. sad the sell a new car but can't provide the newest maps. I'm sticking to my Garmin using a long necked stand I got from Amazon - "https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B09QKQB6RV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1". The TomTom is hard to use anyway. I live in Nova Scotia Canada and I always get USA suggestions first not that you can tell until I pick the address. Pretty useless really to me.

 

What do you bet it will come as a "Dealer update" and cost $$$ for labour.

 

Had my 15K kms service and asked for any software updates or map updates to be applied. The Mitsubishi service centre said there were no such updates - and this is 9 months after I first got the latest PHEV. What gives Mitsubishi - I cannot believe there are no software updates and fixes available for a vehicle with a lot of compute/automation built-in.

 

Have tried this repeatedly, after reformatting a brand new SANDISK 32 USB to Fat 32 , verified successfully on my PC. MITSU Map Update keeps giving me a "Can not read USB " error message.

 

I am having same kind of problem. I've just got outlander 2023 , 10 days ago. And found that map is old. I am using Mac but when I plug in FAT32 formatted 64GB USB stick into Car and saved Map info, and start Map Updater APP, nothing shows up. In Finder, I can see USB with nothing in it. My guess is the file is hidden so nobody can modify. At end, I cannot do update after many challenges. Tried PC, newer Mac. all failed.
